We’re done.

We are tired of all the bull shit of the last half dozen or more years. It was pitting us against each other, creating toxic environments in work places, in communities, in cities, in government. We are now asking questions of ourselves and others. What do we want and why. Prior to Covid we were adrift in a sea of disinformation, and truth was elusive, and life was like a bad reality tv show with constant distractions. Everyone was blaming each other for their problems.

Covid may have saved us from ourselves. It came with a high cost, but it forced us to spend quality time with ourselves and those we care about. Life became simpler, we did more ourselves, we realized we could survive without queuing up for coffee, lunch, commuting, and the endless meetings. We saved money, we worked remotely, many were more productive. And we found new ways to do things. We also were not distracted 24/7 and had time to become aware of things around us. We all saw nine minutes of George Floyd, in disbelief. We also saw through a lot of other things with our new lens on life. Many have realized that we have been sold a false narrative of success and perhaps we’re just pawns in the money making machines.

Whatever you call it, it is an awakening, and awareness of what is really important to us. This is not the “me” competitive culture of the past, it is the “quality of life” culture that many are pursuing now. And, it feels good.
